Particle Foams
Particle Foams are usually adjusted to the required gross density to be readily foamed in an additional processing step. In this connection the beads for the production of mouldings are transported to a shape moulding machine and for the production of blocks they are supplied to a block mould and subsequently fused with saturated dry steam.
Basically the processing procedure of particle foam EPS (expandable polystyrol) and its copolymers differs from the procedure of particle foam EPP (expandable polypropylene).
