Particle Foams

Particle Foams are usually adjusted to the required gross density to be readily foamed in an additional processing step.

EPS

The processing of EPS (expandable polystyrol) takes place in the steps: pre-expanding, intermediately storing and final moulding.

LTH

The LTH process patented by Kurtz is furthermore unbeatable in the EPS processing in regard to short cycle times and low energy consumption!

Eco-LTH

The Kurtz Eco-LTH process is a further development of the LTH process.

Dual Density

The Kurtz dual density technology gives mouldings a higher density at certain points and thus higher strength.

In-mould skinning (glazing)

With the in-mould skinning technology the surface of the EPS moulding is refined.

Skin-Moulding

The skin moulding system used by Kurtz is one of the leading refining processes for EPS and EPP mouldings. Mouldings can be foamed and coated with film in one working step in the same machine.

Lost Foam Process

Lost Foam process or casting with lost foam models.

EPP

In the processing of EPP (expandable polypropylene), pneumatically compressed particle foam beads are fused in a mould with the help of superheated steam. Basically the following processes can be distinguished in pressure filling process, crack filling process, pressure filling process with pre-pressurized material and crack filling process with pre-pressurized material.
